Challenge — Create and propose several merch options for the band, Kat King, with a western theme
Concept — After meeting with Kat King and discussing themes of strong female leads, cats, and western iconography, I explored several variations of these themes as well as beer-themed designs since this merchandise was to be debuted at Kansas City’s beloved beer and music festival, Boulevardia.
I explored several simplistic type and pallet designs as well as powerful women dressed in western garb, as the band is lead by their namesake, Kat.
Initial designs included a cowboy cat smoking a blunt, a mirrored visual of Kat King herself with a mustache, and Kat sleeping on a giant pet wolf in the desert with several color variations.
Altogether we made a handkerchief, koozie, and shirt design to be debuted in the summer of 2022.
